Healthy Barrels brings the Scandinavian ritual of the barrel sauna to backyards, beaches, and remote corners of Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. Our hand-built, wood-fired barrel sauna travels on a light trailer — tow it away for a self-serve weekend, or have us deliver, set up, and light the fire for you. Either way, you get dry heat up to 95 °C, western red cedar underfoot, and the slow, grounding rhythm of löyly on the stones.

The sauna is built for small groups — four to six people — and is designed for anyone who wants the benefits of heat therapy without owning a permanent sauna: families marking a milestone, sports teams recovering after a long event, friends camping off the grid, or couples wanting a quiet winter ritual under the stars. Because it runs on wood, not power, it works anywhere a 4WD or ute can reach — no plug, no generator, no compromise.
